The Toy Lady Runs?

I started running indoors on a treadmill in 2000. Before that, I walked mostly outdoors or on my treadmill daily. I had 2 dogs!

In 2000, a friend of mine and her husband decided to run a 5K. After a day of training with her ex-Marine husband, my friend encouraged me to train with her.

Since I was already running 30 minutes on my treadmill, I thought it would be a piece of cake to run a 2 mile training run. Ha! I thought I would die on that first training run.

I stuck with the 5K training until we started the "long runs". I could not keep up. I quit the training and did not sign up for the race.

April 2007, I laced up my shoes again. I have missed my old friend running. I love everything about it.

Anyone can run! If you are a walker, start with a walk/run training program. Be consistent and repeat weeks if you need to. You will get better.
